AVON — City Council will discuss the accepting a construction bid for the Avon Veterans Memorial on Feb. 25.
The item was discussed at a work session for Council on Monday night about the construction of the memorial near the Detroit Road Municipal Complex.
Accepting of bids will be up for approval Feb. 25 for a first reading or pass-through emergency.
Bids for construction opened Nov. 26 with two companies bidding from Perk Company Inc. and KMU Trucking and Excavating Inc. The city plans to award it to Perk Community for $172,338.
If approved, the construction will be able to start immediate after awarding the bid. The memorial would then be expected to be completed before Memorial Day on May 27.
