Severe snow bursts expected to limit visibility in Lorain, Medina, Cuyahoga counties

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory that continues in Lorain County through 4 p.m. today.

The weather service is also predicting scattered, intense snow showers will at times limit visibility to one-half mile this morning and produce light accumulation on roads and rapidly changing driving conditions.

West-southwest winds are expected to gust up to 45 mph.

A flood warning continues for Lorain County, including the Black River in Elyria. According to the Lorain County Engineer, Foster Road in Penfield Township is closed due to high water.

Even though severe weather isn’t expected,  the conditions can make normal-looking roads slick and make vehicles tough to control. The weather service reminds drivers not to attempt to pass through standing water.
