Ellie is available for adoption from Friendship APL.

This Sweet Ellie greets with a smile! This girl is hands down the happiest girl you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. She likes car rides, and (obviously) enjoys treats. She likes to play ball and play tug with rope toys. She is active during the day and will chill on the floor by you at night. She only tolerates cats, hates squirrels, birds and most definitely hates fireworks. She likes other dogs. Ellie can get overly excited when she plays and meets new people, so small children may get knocked down.

Ellie was adopted from the APL two years ago and returned because of the owner’s health. She has done well with the toddler in the home. She loved the other dog in the home. Ellie loves to go on walks. She is housebroken. She loves to play in the water as well.

Tulley is available for adoption from Friendship APL.

Tulley – prison graduate

Tulley has spent 12 weeks at the Grafton Correctional Institute being trained in basic obedience and commands, proper leash walking, house training and manners. She is now a proud prison graduate. Prison graduates go fast because they’re trained and ready to be in a home! Upon adoption you will receive a free training session with our staff dog trainer in how to keep up with everything Tulley has learned.

Tulley was a stray rescued from the Lorain County Dog Pound. Tulley was pulled by our friends at Fido’s Companion who completely vetted this sweet girl. She was adopted and returned due to a family member being allergic to her. After her return Tulley was selected to go into our prison training program. She is a sweet girl, easy on a leash, with a gentle disposition. She is absolutely beautiful and was a great student at the prison while being trained. Tulley loves to play fetch with a ball and likes other dogs but no cats. Tulley chases squirrels and small animals.

Dusty is available for adoption from Friendship APL.

Dusty was rescued from a backyard with six other German shepherds. She lived her entire life outside. Upon arrival her long fluffy coat was so densely matted with mud and debris we had no choice but to sedate her and give her a full surgical shave. Dusty’s coat is growing back nicely. This gal will be a stunning dog with lots of TLC. These dogs have not received much socialization and were never let indoors. *Dusty was recently adopted and returned after a month. There was a Chihuahua in her new home and unfortunately Dusty kept attacking the small dog. We noticed many of the German shepherds we received in this seizure case have very high prey drives, so Dusty should not be placed in a home with other small pets including cats. Kids over 12 years of age would be best too. Other than this, she is a super sweet dog. She was great with her house training, walks well on a leash and quiet in the home. Dusty certainly deserves a second chance at life and will not disappoint!

BREED: White king German shepherd

SEX: Female

SPAYED: Yes; shots current

AGE: 6 years old

Chop is available for adoption from Friendship APL.

Chop & Kane

Kane and Chop were surrendered together due to the owner moving. They have been together their whole lives. They are crate trained and will stay in there eight-plus hours a day. Kane will chew if he is left out for long periods of time ... he is also an escape artist and will look for a way out of the fence. They have lived with a 3 year old, but the young child was very respectful of the dogs and was taught not to play with their toys because they can play rough. They can be a little food aggressive with each other but have never been that way towards people. They do not like cats! These handsome boys can be adopted separately.

Kane is available for adoption from Friendship APL.

BREED: Chop is a Lab mix and Kane is pit bull terrier mix

SEX: Both are males

NEUTERED: Yes; shots current

AGE: Chop is 4 years old and Kane is 2 years old

SIZE: Both are medium

Bruce is available for adoption from Friendship APL.

Bruce came to Friendship APL when he and the other dog in the home began acting up when a new baby arrived. They did well until then. Bruce is housebroken and seems to have a nice disposition. He has always gotten along with other dogs, but in typical Beagle fashion will chase cats. He will enjoy an active home that enjoys hiking in the park and playing in the backyard.

BREED: Beagle mix
