Elyria alumna Tianna (Madison) Bartoletta will return to her hometown for a homecoming weekend, including participating in the dedication of the new Ely Stadium.

Bartoletta, a 2003 Elyria High graduate who’s won gold medals in the previous two Olympics and is currently in training for the 2020 Games in Tokyo, will be at the formal dedication of the stadium at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 19, before the Pioneers football team takes on Strongsville. She will also be at a tailgate party at the high school prior to the game.

Some of Bartoletta’s greatest moments as a high school athlete took place at the old Ely Stadium, where she ran track. She won nine state titles and her senior year, the Pioneers won the state track title as a team.

A reception is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Elyria High School Performing Arts Center, and there will be an athletic seminar from 1-4 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Doubletree on Crocker Road in Westlake. Registration is required, and can be completed at Bartoletta’s website.
