LORAIN -— Gunfire hit a home on Riverside Drive early Thursday morning, leaving Lorain police to investigate a possible drive-by shooting.
According to a police report, at about 2 a.m. Thursday a call came into Lorain police about shots fired in the neighborhood. Officers discovered that one bullet passed through a home on the 4600 block of Riverside Drive. The bullet entered through the glass of the front door, shattering it.
Police said the bullet continued through the door, went through two walls and stopped in a wall in the basement stairs.
The bullets injured no one in the home.
Officers found 10 9 mm bullet casings in the middle of the road between 4610 and 4616 Riverside Drive, the report said.
While police were at the location, an anonymous caller told dispatchers that a white Chevrolet Malibu was possibly involved in the shooting. The car reportedly drove southbound on the street after the incident. Police did not find the described vehicle in the area.
Officers also mentioned they saw a group of young men gathered in the driveways of the area where the shots came from.
