LORAIN — The city’s newest housing development will be opening this weekend on the west side.
According to a news release from K. Hovnanian Homes, there will be a celebration for the opening 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the intersection of Kolbe and Jaeger roads.
The development features 11 home design options on either 40- or 50-foot lots, which will receive a tax abatement from the city of Lorain while also being in the Amherst school district.
According to the news release, four of the home designs are new, including a ranch as well as opportunities for first-floor suites.
“We’re excited to celebrate the opening of Cornerstone Farms,” K. Hovnanian Homes spokeswoman Kelly Kreischer said. “We don’t normally get the opportunity to introduce this many new home designs in addition to our best selling floorplans. The availability of both 40- and 50-foot lots and cul-de-sac home sites means that there will be something for every buyer, from first-timers to those looking to move up into something a bit larger.”
Mayor Chase Ritenauer said he’s pleased the new development, which has room for more than 150 new homes, is getting ready to open.
“These projects are imperative for a growing Lorain, and I welcome the start of the project and the city’s new residents,” he said.
