AMHERST – A man and woman riding a motorcycle were flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland after colliding head-on with a pickup truck Tuesday at around 3 p.m.
Police Officer Chris Alten said the couple’s motorcycle was traveling southbound on North Main Street when it began to veer into the northbound lane. At the 900 block of North Main Street near Cooper Foster Park Road, the motorcycle struck the truck’s driver-side tire.
Police did not name the diver or the man and woman on the motorcycle.
The impact ejected both people from the motorcycle and spun the truck into a road sign. Alten said the woman’s head was bleeding and she appeared to have a broken left leg. He said the man’s injuries were also not life-threatening injuries.
The motorcycle was a complete loss and the truck’s front driver-side tire was flattened from the impact. The driver of the truck was uninjured. Alten also said its unknown how fast the two vehicles were going.
The story will be updated as soon as details are available.
