17 more arrests announced in drug raid

ELYRIA — Police arrested 17 more people as part of an operation aimed at breaking up the “Money Over Everything” drug gang and getting drugs off the street.

A total of 48 suspects have been arrested in what Elyria police have dubbed “Operation Exodus,” which has resulted in the seizure of illegal street drugs like cocaine and heroin and also weapons. The operation has also resulted in the seizure of more than $40,000 in cash.

Those most recently arrested were arrested on charges that included cocaine and heroin trafficking and possession, engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, conspiracy, corrupting another with drugs and manufacturing drugs.

Three of the 17 arrested were arrested for drug trafficking, while the other 14 people were arrested for drug possession.

The most recent to be arrested are:

  • Clyde Anderson Jr., 25, of East 33rd Street in Lorain, charged with pattern of corrupt activity, cocaine trafficking and conspiracy.
  • Tia Bellamy, 33, of Virginia Avenue in Elyria, charged with possession of heroin and cocaine.
  • Daniel Brown, 31, of Ohio Street in Elyria, charged with possession of cocaine and heroin.
  • Marquel Brown, 27, of Brace Avenue in Elyria, charged with pattern of corrupt activity, corrupting another with drugs, manufacturing drugs and cocaine trafficking.
  • Peggie Frederick, 44, of Cornell Avenue in Amherst, charged with possession of cocaine.
  • Jennifer Harrison, 28, of Mariner’s Court in Sheffield, charged with possession of cocaine and heroin.
  • Lance Hurt, 28, of East 31st Street in Lorain, charged with possession of drugs.
  • Kevin Hyland, 30, of Oak Street in North Ridgeville, charged with possession of cocaine.
  • Rodney Lane, 41, of East Avenue in Elyria, charged with possession of cocaine and heroin.
  • Kathryn Maxwell, 36, of Broadway in Cleveland, charged with possession of cocaine and marijuana.
  • Janice Norris, 64, of Boston Avenue in Elyria, charged with possession of cocaine.
  • Jonathan Oliver, 33, of Portia Court in Elyria, charged with heroin trafficking.
  • Allison Pope, 35, of Floral Court in Elyria, charged with possession of cocaine and heroin.
  • William Sinclair, 34, of Manchester Street in North Ridgeville, charged with heroin and cocaine possession.
  • Michael Smith, 41, of Lake Avenue in Elyria, charged with possession of cocaine and heroin.
  • John Whittemore, 55, of Longfellow Street in Elyria, charged with possession of cocaine.
  • Justin Wise, 19, of Arabian Court in LaGrange, charged with heroin possession.

Police have said “Operation Exodus” has targeted drug suppliers, dealers and buyers.
