Obituary
Jane M. Renz (nee Ferguson), 66, of Elyria, died Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at The Wesleyan Village, following a lengthy illness. She was born February 3, 1942 in Lorain.
She had attended Marygrove College, The Ohio State University, Kent State University and Baldwin Wallace College. She retired from Lorain County Community College, following 16 years of service as a Community Employment Specialist.
Jane was a member of St. Mary Church, and enjoyed square dancing, community services projects, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, she was a board member of The Lorain County Transit Authority, Lorain Catholic School Board, and Lorain St. Mary High School.
She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer A. Wilms of Lakewood, Rebecca R. Goodman (Brian) of Helena, Montana; son, David J. Renz of Talent, Oregon; five grandchildren, Kara B., Kaitlin M. and Chad A. Wilms, and Marie and Hannah Goodman; sister, Betty Ann Good of Dallas, Texas; brothers, The Honorable George H. Ferguson (Maurita) of Elyria and Thomas J. Ferguson of Wakeman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Beatrice (nee Kissell) Ferguson.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 P.M. Sunday, December 7, 2008 at The Bauer-Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. (440)322-4626. Liturgy of the Word 10 A.M. Monday, December 8, 2008 at St. Mary Church, 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. Rev. Fr. Charles Diedrick will be the Celebrant. (Please meet at the church). Burial will be private.
