Janet Bernice Schaefer

Obituary

Janet Bernice Schaefer, 87, of Medina, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2008. She was born November 14, 1921 in Oberlin.

Mrs. Schaefer was a telephone operator for many years. Her one ambition in life was to be a good mom, and if success is measured by the love her family felt for her, she succeeded beyond her wildest dreams. She was an avid reader, loved a good crossword puzzle, and made each of her nine grandchildren a quilt.

She is survived by her son, Ronald (Judy) Schaefer of Columbus; daughters, Cheryl (Stephen) Kovein of  Norton, Cindy (Tim)  Luedy of Medina, and Marianne (John) Clevidence of Medina; step-sister, Laura Louise Longbrake; and step-brother, Burton Hall; grandchildren, Amanda, Katy, Cari, Stephen, Anthony, Kelly, Brooke, Andrew, and Craig; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Colin, Delia, Casi, Holly, Macy, Stephen, Nathan, Morgan, Logan, and Jacob.

Mrs. Schaefer was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Minnie Meeks; husband of 57 years, Sylvester Schaefer; sisters, Marie McIntire and Kathryn Hadaway; brothers, Elden and Charles Meeks; step-sister, Emma Jean Chapman; and step-brother, Karl Hall.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 3, 2008 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Waite & Son Funeral Home, Medina Chapel, 765 N. Court St. The Mass of Christian

Burial will be Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 10 A.M. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 606 E. Washington St., Medina. Rev. Mark Hollis will officiate. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Medina County, 797 N. Court St, Medina, OH 44256.
