Alice E. Stinchcomb
Obituary
Alice E. Stinchcomb, 93, a resident of Lutheran Village, died at Hospice House Sunday afternoon, November 23, 2008. She was born on September 9, 1915 in Solon, to Fred J. and Edna Thompson Meyers.
She was a graduate of Lutheran Medical Center School of Nursing, class of 1943. She was also a graduate of University Hospital School of Anesthesia, both in Cleveland. She was a certified registered nurse anesthetist for 30 years, retiring in 1980, having been employed in the Cleveland area and also EMH Regional Medical Center and Berea Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ashland, Ashland County Senior Citizens, Ashland R.N. Association, Ashland Christian Women’s Club, a volunteer for the American Red Cross Bloodmobile and Samaritan Hospital.
On November 10, 1951, she was married to Wayne D. Stinchcomb who predeceased her on August 1, 2007. She is survived by sisters, Esther Nash of Bay Village and Rachel Behm of Tiffin; a sister-in-law, Connie Meyers of Bloomville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two infant sons, Wayne S. in 1952, and William R. in 1956; and daughter, Betty J. Stinchcomb on November 5, 1982; and three brothers.
Friends may call from Noon until the time of the 1:30 P.M. services Sunday, November 30, 2008 at the Denbow-Primm-Kemery Funeral Home, 313 Center Street, Ashland. The Rev. Butch White will officiate. Burial will be in Ashland County Memorial Park.
