Obituary
Timothy M. Coy Sr., 63, of Amherst, died Monday, October 6, 2008 at his son’s residence in Lorain, following a brief illness. Tim was born in Canton, July 10, 1945, the son of the late Owen M. and Gertrude E. (nee Janson) Coy.
He was raised in Lorain and was a 1963 graduate of Admiral King High School. Throughout his life, he was an auto enthusiast, and in his younger years he enjoyed racing cars. He spent his career working in the auto industry, first as a mechanic and then as a service coordinator. Tim was employed at the former Bob Beck Chevrolet, Lorain, the former Milad’s Chevrolet, Amherst, the former A & C Tire, Elyria, and most recently at Abraham Buick in Elyria, where he retired in 2006.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Nancy Lee (nee Stewart); children, Tim M. (Krista) Coy Jr. of Lorain, Anmarie (Glenn) Edwards of South Amherst, Charlotte (Matt) Tache of Amherst Township, Joseph Coy of Amherst, and Karen Lambert of Chicago; five grandchildren; brother, Jack (Rossie) Coy of Florida; and sister, Mary Lou (Ben deceased) Ziemba of LaGrange.
The family will receive friends at the Garland-Misencik Funeral Home, 851 Park Avenue, Amherst, Thursday, October 9, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. There will be a funeral service at 8 P.M. following visitation. The Rev. James Mazanec, Associate Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Amherst, will officiate. There will be a private family interment.
