Pair charged with meat theft 

Two residents of Pratt Boulevard in Elyria were charged with theft-related offenses after being stopped outside a grocery store in Norwalk with meat allegedly stolen from grocery stores including the Village Market and Geyer’s in Wellington.

Matthew Banak, 27, was charged with theft and Debra Rogers, 53, was charged with complicity to theft, police said.

9:49 p.m. – 100 block West St., Steve J. Eyestone, 41, operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and loud muffler.

Wednesday, Sept. 10

8:20 a.m. — 100 block W. Herrick Ave., police take a report of someone breaking a building window with a beer bottle.

3:36 p.m. – East Herrick Avenue and Courtland Street, Jeremiah W. Smith, 29, of Elyria, charged with driving without a license and driving without a registration sticker.

Thursday, Sept. 11

5:43 p.m. – North Main Street at the village limit, Larry P. Thomas, 58, of Litchfield, charged with riding a motorcycle without a motorcycle endorsement, and Danny M. Thomas, 37, of Wellington, given a warning for riding a motorcycle without a motorcycle endorsement.

Friday, Sept. 12

2:33 a.m. — 200 block Taylor St., Daniel Burton, 21, of Wellington, arrested on a warrant.

7:45 a.m. – 200 block S. Main St., police assist in the investigation of a 14-year-old McCormick Middle School student who admitted drinking beer. She was suspended from school for five days.

8:35 a.m. – 200 block of Barker St., theft of medication and jewelry.

Saturday, Sept. 13

12:21 a.m. – 200 W. Herrick St., Ryan S. Axford, 21, of Wellington, charged with driving under suspension, Joshua A. Reynolds, 20, of Wellington, charged with wrongful entrustment of a motor vehicle and underage consumption and Joseph R. Danesi, 26, of Wellington, charged with consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drugs.

Sunday, Sept. 14

7:17 p.m. – 700 block Brookside Drive, theft of vehicle complaint.

Monday, Sept. 15

1:39 p.m. – Forest Street near state Route 18, sick raccoon in garbage can shot by police.

Monday, Sept. 9

11:42 p.m. – South Pleasant Street, Ramon Christian, 32, of Oberlin, arrested on a warrant for domestic violence. He also was charged with possession of marijuana and obstructing official business after being taken into custody. He allegedly ran from police down the bike path.

Friday, Sept. 12

Noon — Oberlin College, office worker reports wallet was taken from her purse.

3:36 p.m. – Union Street, police investigate complaint a juvenile assaulted another juvenile on a school bus.

4:40 p.m. – East Lorain Street, landlord turns in marijuana from apartment where a tenant was evicted.

Monday, Sept. 15

9:29 a.m. – West College Street, James Simko, 18, of Wakeman, arrested on a warrant.
