Thursday, Sept. 4
10:26 a.m. – 2300 block Washington Ave., two women were seen trying to break into a home. One was using a hammer.
12 p.m. – Admiral King High School, Ashland Avenue, a
14-year-old girl and 15-year-old boy were cited with theft. They allegedly took a teacher’s cell phone and money and tried to sell the phone, a report said.
1:11 p.m. – 4800 block Ashland Ave., jewelry stolen.
1:54 p.m. – Kuhn Fabricating storage building, East 28th Street, electrical box and wires stolen from the outside of the building.
2:21 p.m. – 4400 block Ashland Ave., Dell computer stolen. A neighbor saw the suspect and gave chase, forcing him to drop a bag of other stolen goods.
3:24 p.m. – 1700 block E. 29th St., two men tried to steal copper plumbing from a vacant house but were chased away.
3:50 p.m. – 4100 block Fulton Road, Oldsmobile Alero, DVD player, television, VCR, receiver, CD changer, necklace and rings stolen.
4:18 p.m. – 800 block Central Drive, menacing phone calls that include death threats.
4:28 p.m. – 1000 block W. 22nd St., about $2,500 in copper was stolen from a house.
5:28 p.m. – 600 block Washington Ave., $500 worth of chain link fencing stolen.
6:20 p.m. – Apple’s, Meister Road, Alonna M. Charlton, 22, Lorain, charged with petty theft.
9:16 p.m. – Rite Aid, Broadway, Michael S. Souris, 47, Lorain, charged with robbery. He allegedly tried to hold up a stranger outside the store but did not have a weapon. The victim punched him several times in self-defense and Souris was taken to the hospital, a police report said.
Friday, Sept. 5
2:30 p.m. – 2600 block Garfield Blvd., car window smashed.
9:30 p.m. – 1700 block E. 29th St., plasma television, DVD player, PlayStation 2 and video games stolen.
11:01 p.m. – 3300 block Dallas Ave., an estimated $2,000 in damage from BB holes in siding.
Saturday, Sept. 6
1:06 a.m. – 400 block Florida Ave., Kavis D. Roberts, 31, Lorain, charged with menacing.
1:48 a.m. – West 28th Street, Gamaliel Oquendo, 25, Lorain, charged with possession of cocaine, drug paraphernalia and no license-plate light.

Friday, Sept. 5
7:50 a.m. – 500 block S. Abbe Road, telephone harassment.
10:58 a.m. – 300 block Market Drive, prescription pain pills stolen from a vehicle.
1:16 p.m. – 100 block Eady Court, attempted burglary.
11:30 p.m. – 300 block 11th St., a woman said her boyfriend struck her and chased her, but she escaped out a bedroom window.
3:50 p.m. – East Avenue and Fourth Street, a woman said her grandson was attacked by another boy.
11:59 p.m. – 1800 block Middle Ave., diamond wedding rings stolen.
Saturday, Sept. 6
12:07 a.m. – Single digits Lake Ave., James Schiavoni, 24, Sheffield Lake, charged with assault and disorderly conduct.
12:55 a.m. – 500 block Second St., car window smashed.
1:55 a.m. – 100 block Park Meadow Drive, a man said someone sent 30 disturbing text messages and three voice messages. No threats were made, only indirect mention of paying to have someone beaten up.
4:30 a.m. – Police station, West Avenue, Neil Lanning, 30, Elyria, warrant.
