Anne Dulick

Obituary

Anne Dulick (nee Dudiak), 88, formerly of Lorain, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, August 17, 2008, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, N.C., following a brief illness. She was born on December 2, 1919, the first child of Ilko and Mary Dudiak, Ukrainian immigrants who married and settled in Lorain.

After graduating from Lorain High School in 1938, Anne attended Fenn College in Cleveland, where she earned a degree in accounting. Anne worked in a government accounting office in Cleveland, Lorain Products Co., and later as a nurse’s aide at Ohio Extended Care.

Anne was an avid reader who loved to travel and visit museums. She frequently attended performances of the Cleveland Opera and Cleveland Ballet with her daughter, Maryann. She was a lifelong Cleveland Indians fan, and attended the 1948 World Series games in Cleveland. She had a passion for knitting and crocheting, which continued until the end of her life. She was also a devoted caregiver to her mother, brother, and husband, during their illnesses.

Anne was a former member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church and was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the church, the church choir and a Sunday school teacher.

When her health began to fail in 2002, Anne relocated to her daughter’s home in Raleigh. During her life in Raleigh, Anne was able to travel extensively with her family to such destinations as Tampa, St. Augustine, Orlando, Miami, New Orleans, Savannah and Charleston. She also traveled throughout her new home state of North Carolina.

Anne is survived by her daughter, Maryann Dulick and her husband Sean Dail of Raleigh; son, Dr. Michael Dulick of Tucson, Arizona; and  brother, Steve Dudiak of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell Dulick in 1990; brothers, Michael Dudiak in 1976, and John Dudiak in 2005.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 22, 2008, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. services at Dovin Funeral Home in Lorain. The Rev. Father Basil Stoyka, pastor of Saints Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Anne’s memory to the American Cancer Society, Ohio Division, North Region, 10501 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44106.
