Obituary
Vernon N. Crislip, 83, of Elyria transitioned to be with the Lord Thursday, July 24, 2008 at the EMH Regional Medical Center. He was born August 20, 1924 in Bridgeport, West Virginia, and was a Elyria resident for most of his life.
Vernon worked as a mechanic at Glavic Chrysler-Plymouth in Brookpark, retiring in 1989.
He served in the U.S. Army during W.W. II and was a member of V.F.W. Post 1079 in Elyria and the Lorain Rifle and Pistol Club.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working with computers, music and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his daughters, Barbara Leicher and Debra Clay, both of Elyria; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence in 1995; son, James Crislip; and grandson, Samuel Kelly III.
There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at Brookdale Cemetery, Oberlin/Elyria Rd., Elyria at 11 A.M., where members of V.F.W. Post 1079 will conduct full military honors.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria. 322-4626.
