50th Anniversary - Behrendt

Mel and Gloria Behrendt

Congratulations to Mel and Gloria Behrendt (nee Blazejewski), who will celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary on August 2, 2008!

Father Orlemanski performed the August 2, 1958 ceremony at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Cleveland.

Mel retired in 1993 from C.E.I., after 24 years as an Engineering Technician. He is currently the Secretary of the Parkside Condo Association. He served eight years in the U.S. Navy as a Quartermaster and Signalman in the Reserves and on Active Duty aboard Destroyers in the Mediterranean, Indian Ocean, and the Persian Gulf. Mel enjoys motorcycling. He is an usher at St. Teresa’s Church.

Gloria retired from Sheffield-Sheffield Lake Schools after 31 years as a Secretary. She is currently the Vice President of the Sheffield-Sheffield Lake Board of Education. Her hobbies include playing board and card games. She is a greeter at St. Teresa’s Church.

Mel and Gloria, from Sheffield Village are the parents of Brad (Joyce) of Westlake, Brian (Chrissy) of Sheffield Lake, and Bruce (deceased); grandparents of Allyssa, Lindsay and Hunter Behrendt, Ashley White, and Mandy Bracken. They enjoy camping, attending plays and musicals, and visiting casinos.

Their children will host a party Friday, August 1, 2008 in honor of their Golden Anniversary for approximately 100 guests traveling from Ohio and Pennsylvania.
