Man accused of killing infant faces an unrelated charge

NorthCoastNOW

ELYRIA —  A Lorain man accused of killing an 8-month-old baby boy in June has been indicted again by a county grand jury on an unrelated escape charge for failing to report to his probation officer.

Kevin Kimbrough, 24, could face the death penalty if convicted of aggravated murder in the death of Jayden Davidson, whom he was baby-sitting.

Kimbrough

He also is facing child endangering charges for allegedly abusing Jayden’s 2-year-old brother.
County Prosecutor Dennis Will said the escape case was “already in the pipeline” when Jayden died from severe head and brain injuries.

Kimbrough was placed on probation by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction in February after his release from prison on a two-year sentence for failure to comply, receiving stolen property and obstructing official business.

Will said after Kimbrough failed to report in April, the process to indict him for escape began moving forward.Kimbrough remains in the county jail.

i am very sorry and my heart goes out to the family of jayden. Although, as i speak my opinion, i have known kevin for a really long time and i know in my heart that he didint cause his death.kevin has babysat for me numerous times in the past and my kids really enjoyed being around him.I think that prosecuters are moving too fast in this case and are pointing the finger at one persin too soon. There is just so many things that arent making any sense.I think the mother needs to be investigated as well..For many reasons.I really hope that they investigate a little harder and find the,”real murderer” Not only for kevins sake but Jaydens as well.

you never know what goes on behind closed doors. We cant say that he is the killer for sure, but you also cant say that he wasnt….unless you were there.

YOU ARE ABSOLOUTLY RIGHT ABOUT THAT.BUT THE CORONER SAYS THAT BOTH BABYS SUFFERED FROM LONG TERM CHILD ABUSE.KEVEIN WAS NOT A FULLTIME BABYSITTER.ONLY OCCASIONLY.AND IF HE WERE TO ABUSE THE CHILDREN WHEN HE DID BABYSIT,IM SURE THAT THE CHILDRENS MOTHER WOULD HAVE NOTICED THEN.I HAVE 4 CHILDREN OF MY OWN, AND IF SOMETHING LIKE THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPEN TO EITHER OF THEM,I SURE AS HECK WOULD NOT BE AT THE BAR DRINKING HAVING A GOOD TIME.

ALSO,IF YOU LOOK AT THE TIME FRAME, IT PLAYS A BIG PART TOO.HE ONLY HAD THE CHILDREN FOR A REAL SHORT PERIOD OF TIME BEFORE THE INFANT DIED.I WAS WATCHING THIS SHOW ONCE WHERE A BABY FELL OFF A KITCHEN CHAIR AND THE PARENTS THOUGHT THE BABY WAS FINE.UNTIL THEY DROPPED IT OFF AT THE BABYSITTERS HOUSE AND THE BABY ENDED UP DYING A COUPLE HRS LATER.THE PARENTS AND POLICE ACCUSED THE BABYSITTER BECAUSE THE BABY WAS IN HER CARE AT THE TIME OF DEATH.UNTIL THE PARENTS REMEMBERED THAT THE BABY HAD FELL EARLIER THAT DAY. NOT SAYING HES INNOCENT,BUT IN MY HEART, I BELIEVE HE IS.KEVIN IS A VERY GENTLE & LOVING PERSON.HWEN I SEEN THE CILDRENS MOTHER AT THE BAR LAST WKND, SHE SEEMED TO BE HAVING A GREAT TIME!!! NOT COOL AT ALL.
